At the invitation of Mr. René Lacroix, Vice-Rector, Infrastructure and Transformation, I became a member of Chantier 3 - Un campus vibrant, whose objective is to develop a dynamic, human-centred living environment on our campus. A professor's job is more than just teaching. In fact, a professor must perform four professorial functions on a daily basis: teaching, research, internal participation (in the administration and operation of the university) and external participation (with the scientific community and civil society).

It is in this latter capacity that I am actively involved in the work of two new committees. The Mayor of Quebec City, Bruno Marchant, invited me to join the Comité de la mobilité de la couronne nord de la Ville de Québec. Mr. Pierre-Luc Lachance, Municipal Councillor for the Saint-Roch-Saint-Sauveur district and Vice-Chairman of the Quebec City Executive Committee responsible for Mobility and Road Safety, has invited me to join the Quebec Metropolitan Community's Metropolitan Vision on Sustainable Mobility Action Plan Committee. It was with great pleasure and humility that I accepted both invitations.
